About Land Rover Our Planet
Land Rover Our Planet celebrates the longstanding relationship that Land Rover has forged with the natural world. In the last 60 years, Land Rover has continually driven to make a positive contribution to the environment we all live in. This commitment has lead to enduring partnerships with a host of different charities, helping then to overcome some of the most difficult terrain on Our Planet.
A Land Rover has become an essential piece of equipment for anyone who operates in the most remote corners of the globe; explorers, conservationists, environmentalists, humanitarians and scientists.
Our support of conservation projects has blossomed and we are proud to count the Born Free Foundation, Bioshere Expeditions, Earthwatch Institute and Royal Geographical Society among our Global Environmental Partners. From the Atlantic rainforest of Brazil, one of the most endangered and scientifically important ecosystems on Our Planet, to protection of Amur tigers and leopards in the snow-bound states of Primorski and Khaborovski in the Russian Far East, Land Rover are totally committed to global conservation.
Dedicated support of humanitarian projects all over Our Planet has resulted in enduring partnerships with the Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies. Back in 1954, Land Rover supplied a long-wheelbase Series 1 to the British Red Cross for use in Dubai as a mobile dispensary. To mark our 60th anniversary, we gave 60 Land Rovers to the British Red Cross Society. Together, we support of one of Africa’s best-known explorers, Kingsley Holgate in his expedition to circumnavigate the African continent, distributing tens of thousands of mosquito nets to pregnant mothers and to children.
Land Rover supports the work of the China Exploration & Research Society as part of our Fragile Earth commitment. As part of part of our ongoing sponsorship of the Royal Geographic Society (with IBG), Land Rover offers aspiring explorers the chance to win £10,000 funding and the use of a Land Rover 110 Defender for the expedition of a lifetime. The ‘Go Beyond’ Bursary made the Latitude, Atlantic Rising and Fault Line Living expeditions possible.
This relationship with Our Planet is deep rooted within each Land Rover. As are the technological advancements that help us cut carbon emissions and tackle climate change.
